In our efforts to address the root causes of poverty, domestic violence, drug addiction and human trafficking, I strongly recommend to all authorities concerned, please leave our nightclub hours alone.
Close nightclubs, bottle shops (and kava bars) at lam.
There is absolutely no need to waste that extra dollar at the bar, bottle shop and kava bar between lam and 5am.
Please, go home to your families. Be responsible. Save that hard-earned dollar. Buy bread for your families. Schoolchildren need lunches. Do not starve them.
Admittedly, many members of our community cannot handle alcohol responsibility. These citizens need help in a slow adult education programme. Poverty must be ad-dressed.
The lam closure of bars, bottle shops and kava bars are more than sufficient. Right-minded people need to go home long before each sunrise.
Our police officers are over-worked. Namaka Police Station boasts about one officer per thousand in population. They have families too.
They need to rest as well, not chasing drunks, drug addicts, prostitutes and non-civic minded citizens home at sunrise.
Enough is enough.
