The tobacco industry continues to thrive in spite of the well-known damage to health of tobacco use.
Some facts about tobacco may be not so well known.
(1) Every year about eight million people die from tobacco use.
(2) Tobacco is a factor in 25 per cent of all cancers.
(3) In some countries the tobacco industry funds political parties and individual politicians in order to ensure their continuing operation.
(4) The worldwide British American Tobac Quality co company sells about $US32 billion ($FJ72b) worth of tobacco products every year.
Will our local BAT admit publicly that;
(1) the nicotine in their products is the key source of satisfaction and is highly addictive.
(2) they use ammonia to free the nicotine from the tobacco and acetaldehyde to increase its effect on the brain and
(3) they do this to ensure that the users get satisfaction and so continue their addiction?
