Apart from enforcing traffic rules, isn’t facilitating traffic flow also the duty of police?
On Saturday it took me two and half hours to drive two kilometres from Pala’s Service Station to the Andrews Primary School junction when drivers were rushing to cross Nadi Town to escape the approaching floods.
The scenario was chaotic by the one-way traffic road since no one could turn around to take alternative routes.
There were also no traffic police to direct traffic and no signages from them or the Fiji Roads Authority warning drivers of heavy traffic flow and advising them to avoid driving through town.
Where are traffic police and where are their motorbikes that were recently gifted and purchased. Are they now all kaput like the police force?
The current problem is just the tip of the ice berg. There are more to come unless we get the right appointments in the Education Ministry.
