Life is not fair, period.
Ms Tabuya’s plea for fairness, is for all intents and purposes a sham.
Allegations like fiction are borne out of real happenings.
To make the Sunday Mirror headlines in England is no mean feat and to claim her own party’s disciplinary committee as being unfair, just because she is a woman is also unmerited.
Can she honestly tell the people of Fiji that what was ‘alleged’ in the English media was untrue?
Or has she and her alleged co-inspirator sued the English paper for libel?
If an error in judgement was made, humility would be the proper recourse.
Mistakes happen and actions taken to never repeat those mistakes in a high-profile career will be taken into account by Ms Tabuya’s own constituents, the women in her own ministry and all Fijian women in general.
The loss of a deputy party leadership in her political party is not the end of the world. Ms Tabuya will remain a minister. The work and vision to overcome this slight hiccup in a tumultuous career so far, is nothing compared to the end objective – the leadership of the party.
Now, that would be fair!
