Ask those who subscribe to the print media knows the joy of finding a newspaper delivered to their door steps every morning, and how they prioritise reading it over other tasks.
However, there are now very many other platforms which provide not only similar information and news but much more than how and what our newspapers print.
Most newspapers become either pro or antigovernment outlets and we see that in Fiji too (Fiji Times and Fiji Sun).
So unless they grow up and independently report fully and without fear or favour, I am afraid their print relevance will dwindle and perhaps disappear altogether.
What we read in The Fiji Times are substantially different in content and style from that of the Fiji Sun.
We have to read both newspapers to get the full story.
Sadly, we will have to look for something else to wrap our lunch.
