The former Attorney-General helped to produce the 2013 Fiji Constitution after the well drafted and publicly-supported Yash Ghai Constitution was burnt by the Bainimarama
regime.
The same former A-G was also involved in drafting the Political Parties Act and the FijiFirst party constitution.
I’m surprised that the constitution of the party is now found to be non-compliant with the Political Parties Act. Did the former A-G not know how to draft his party’s constitution
in compliance with his own laws?
Makes me wonder about the drafting of our national constitution.
It’s time that our Fiji Constitution is also reviewed and overhauled.
With FijiFirst heading for an early demise, our Coalition Government should be able to get the numbers to put our Constitution to its first-ever referendum!
