As a student and concerned citizen who wants change to take shape, I urge the Ministry of Employment to look at every business firm about the welfare of its employees, as some are facing problems.
It is a matter of concern now that most employees are facing difficulties at work, such as no proper lunch breaks, not being paid, lack of protective equipment, overtime are paid as normal hours, favoritism, FNPF not contributions not paid, employers are mingling according to their job positions.
With these excisting problems, it has violated part one of the universal declaration of human rights on article 23 and 24, where “Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.
Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay”.
