Letters: Moral Decay

Let us not blame the coups of 2000 and 2006 for the increasing moral decay among youths and school-aged children and even among us adults today.

Fiji’s first coup and the Sunday law restrictions that came with it negatively affected our economy, but Christians turned to God in prayer to intercede and to right the wrongs that caused the coup.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fiji reported the sudden return of most of its missing members.

The Bible teaches that our Creator wrote the moral law or Ten Commandments on two stone tablets, and it is binding on all humanity.

We sin when we break one divine or moral law.

Christ explains that Love is the very essence of the Creator’s moral law.

When we love God with all our heart, mind and strength we are keeping the first four commandments, and when we love others as we love ourselves, we are keeping the other six moral laws.

God is Love and we all need to have a loving relationship with Him through Christ, to reflect His character and morality.

To decrease moral decay in Fiji, let us all go back to base, the family worship and start over with the promise; “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.”

God bless Fiji.
