‘Letters: Anti-iTaukei Women

First, it was Minister for Women Lynda Tabuya who was investigated, with the possibility of facing the chopping block.

Then now it’s Magistrate Seini Puamau who has been targeted by Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo and Attorney-General Siromi Turaga.

Now guess what, it’s the turn of our acting supervisor of elections, Ana Mataiciwa.

Wow! Is our Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the Coalition Government anti-iTaukei women?

But funny, where is this two-faced Shameema Ali of the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre?

She was vocal on Fiji TV and our mainstream media about Lynda Tabuya. But Ali is a known critic and anti-Voreqe Bainimarama, so in a nutshell she will not support Magistrate Seini Puamau, let alone her professional status.

The acting SOE Ms Mataciwa is a meticulous lady and is following her employment job description according to policies and laws of the Fijian Elections Office.

It is alleged she has been reporting on our coalition government ministers to FICAC and the Fiji Police Force. So what?

That is accountability and transparency or isn’t that her prerogative as a patriotic responsible Fijian citizen?

And if PM Rabuka does not like too many of his coalition senior ministers who are rogue, well his best option is to call for an election by November or December.

That’s problem solved, isn’t it?

It will give The People’s Alliance enough time to get credible, discipline and highly qualified professional Fijians as candidates who have respect for the country’s laws and the 2013 Constitution.
