Fiji is a Christian nation addicted to rugby in all its forms.
The players point to heaven before the start whistle blows and they humbly sing a hymn and pray to thank God after the game.
Being a Christian is all about life transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit and being empowered to do God’s will and reflecting Christ’s character.
It is sad to see two Fijian Drua players get red carded during the game against Melbourne Rebels after a deliberate head butt incident and a karate like chop to the back of the neck on an intruding opposition.
The sad thing is, all are caught on camera and seen by all Drua and Rebels supporters.
The famous Bible verse quoted by our players “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” includes playing a clean strong game minus the swearing, head butts, punches and karate chops.
The great thing about God is that He forgives us if we genuinely repent and empowers us to start again as in the above Bible verse.
