As a layman who has witnessed inordinate delays in court cases of ordinary citizens I am told to appreciate that the wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine.
I am therefore perplexed by the speed with which the Bainimarama and Qiliho case has progressed.
Is that to serve the ends of justice or some other agenda?
I ask because I know the justice system was cynically manipulated by the post coup regime in Fiji to put away people regarded as political opponents and critics.
Have things changed?
Or, are we witnessing more of the same?
