To become autonomous and an independent body the GCC does not have to look too far ahead then our neighbours New Zealand, through their indigenous Polynesian Maori Economics up.

The invitation of the Highest-ranking Maori Chief to attend the GCC opening is good omen for Fijians and the iTaukei.

I personally feel our country can rely on the experience and expertise of TLTB Acting chief executive officer, Solo Nata, Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs Pita Tagicakirewa and Minister for iTaukei Affairs Ifereimi Vasu, who has just returned from a weeklong NZ official government soul searching excercise.

The Maori chiefly system and their many very successful Maori business ventures beneficial to them is something to behold and be proud of.
