The cost of living is the biggest issue facing the people of Fiji today according to Unity Fiji Party leader, Mr Savenaca Narube.
He went on to share a disturbing trend, which revealed an increase in our spending pattern on alcohol, kava and cigarettes while food had decreased.
In fact, food items were way down the list.
It comes as no surprise then why Fiji is suffering from such a high incidence of NCDsrelated deaths.
The stats are backing up reality!
And now that we have the figures, what are the relevant authorities deciding to seriously do with it?
It won’t be an easy nut to crack as its obvious that the majority prefer NCDs over natural health!

The crux of the matter is that we are suffering from a malnourishment of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, antioxidants and electrolyte deficiencies to name a few of the necessary elements which contribute to the overall health of the human body; and this has come about as a result of our preferred one-day-rich spending choices.
Indeed, this battle is far worse than the political outcry we are currently facing.
This war on the body is a slow but sure matter of life if taken seriously and death if taken lightly!
