Changes and surprises

Floyd Robinson,  Nasinu

Will the devastating impacts of severe Tropical Cyclone Winston affect Natabua High School and Jasper Williams High School’s preparations for the 2016 Coca Cola Games?

Will it be to the advantage of other schools? Only time will tell but for now looks like these two schools are laying low, keeping a low profile. All in all, one can expect changes and surprises.

Heartless

Tevita Vakarewa,  Tamavua

I wish to thank Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) for working around the clock to restore power around the country during this trying times however I wish to raise a decision which I find cruel.

My electricity was downed by a fallen tree during Tropical Cyclone Winston and I therefore had to fork out an unbudgeted $200 for a new line, electrical contractor’s fees and labour cost.

After almost one week of chasing FEA around I was finally told, in order to restore my power I need to pay my $99 February bill which was due a day before my complaint was lodge with them.

While the Government, FNPF and banks have tried their best to alleviate the suffering of our people during these trying times, we still have here an institution that is totally doing the opposite.

The least they can do is to restore power and extend the grace period of bill repayment in light of the disaster aftermath.

Can the relevant authorities kindly look into this heartless decision?

Litter

Neelz Singh,  Lami

It seems like no one cares about litter nowadays in cities, towns, streets, roads or merely everywhere.

How can we stop them? Whenever a Good Samaritan approaches, they intend to argue or fight but won’t pick up whatever they have thrown anyhow. Any suggestions?  Vinaka
